Fay Simpson is the inventor of The Lucid Body and the Artistic Director and co-founder of Impact Theatre, which was created in 1990.
Informed by her work in the rehearsal room, the teaching studio, and onstage over the last 20 years, Simpson has developed a unique physical training method for the actor called The Lucid Body. The Lucid Body Teacher Training is a two-year certificate program that is now in its second year. The author is a member of The Actors Center, where she also conducts workshops, and has been teaching her technique at the Michael Howard Studios for 15 years. Simpson has conceived, directed, and produced original physical theatre productions with Manhattan Class Company, including D-Train, Degas’ Little Dancer, and Research & Development .Her latest works include an adaptation of a Dorothy Parker short story, Here We Are, and a memorial piece called BIRDGIRL, in memory of Wendy Brantley.
