Ruth Cash-Smith has taught business communications for colleges in the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. A former mediator within the Maine court system, she also worked as a federal grants evaluator, a career counselor, and a private job search coach. She has developed and delivered dozens of workshops on group dynamics, leadership, and conflict resolution.
Her essays have aired on national public radio, and her articles have appeared in over seventy publications. Recipient of the 2006 Apex Award for Professional Communications, she has written several handbooks for a variety of nonprofit organizations. Cash-Smith earned a master’s degree in interpersonal and intercultural communication from Fairfield University and now works as a business counselor for the Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. She lives in Downeast Maine.
