Thomas Lockwood is the President and member of the Board of Directors of the Design Management Institute, DMI, and publisher of the Design Management Review. He is considered an international expert in the area of innovation and design leadership, and the integration of design and business. Prior to working in the public sector he managed brand and design at Sun Microsystems, StorageTek, and ran his own design firm for a number of years. Lockwood is a visiting professor at Pratt Institute in New York City, and a forward thinking advocate researching the value of design for the triple bottom line. He holds a PhD and MBA in design management from the University of Westminster in London, and a BA in marketing and visual design from Eastern Michigan University. A frequent keynote speaker, he has lectured and led design and brand workshops in 20 countries, consults with corporations and with countries, and serves on numerous boards and academic councils throughout the world.
