Tracey’s performing career includes two national Broadway tours: Camelot with Richard Harris and the role of Emma Goldman in Ragtime; and three Off-Broadway productions: Señor Discretion by Frank Loesser (produced posthumously), I Will Come Back at the Player’s Theater, and the title role in Marc Blitzstein’s opera Regina at the York.
Her regional theatre credits include the St. Louis MUNY, Kansas City Starlight, Lyric Theater of Oklahoma, North Shore Music Theater, Connecticut’s Candlewood Playhouse, Darien Dinner Theater, Little Theater on the Square, Hilton Head Playhouse, Pennsylvania’s Mountain Playhouse, and Gablestage in Miami. Tracey was seen by thousands in South Florida as the Earth Mother in Menopause the Musical.
She has been recognized for her talent in developing new works. Tracey was part of a world premiere at the Metropolitan Opera and a United States premiere at New Jersey State Opera. She developed roles in two pre-Broadway workshops: Kevorkian Café and Laughing Matters. She created the role of Mrs. Joe in Mel Marvin and John Jakes’ Great Expectations and performed
frequently at the BMI Musical Theatre workshop, the ASCAP Cabaret, the NYU Musical Theatre Writing program, and New Dramatists. Tracey’s CD, entitled “Workshop, Volume I,” features new musical theatre songs from up-and-coming Broadway composers and is available on the Original Cast Records label. Tracey is a Certifi ed Mediator for Alternative Dispute Resolution and a member of Actors’ Equity, VASTA, NATS, and ATHE. She holds an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College, an MA in English from Southern Illinois University, and a BM in Voice from Indiana University. She is currently Head of the Musical Theatre BFA program at Western Kentucky University.
