Bernhard J Suess is a professional photographer and photography instructor whose work has been widely exhibited. His photographs have been published in more than forty publications in seven countries.

He teaches photography at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He has also taught at Lafayette College and at Allentown College. His articles on black-and-white photography techniques and digital imaging have been published in journals and profesional newsletters such as Photo Techniques, IMAGEBase, Ilfopro, The Imagemaker, JOBO Quarterly, and Outdoor & Travel Photography.

Primarily self-taught, Suess started in photography in August 1983, and has been working professionally since 1978. He has been teaching college-level photography since 1986 and workshops on advanced photography topics since 1990. With another faculty member, he launched a new program to teach digital imaging at the college in fall 1996.

A 1973 graduate from Lehigh University with a B.A. in English, he lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania..
