Gunnar Swanson heads the Gunnar Swanson Design Office and is an award-winning graphic design and marketing consultant with over twenty years' experience in the field. His design writings have appeared in How, Print, Propaganda, Design Issues and the AIGA Journal of Graphic Design, among others, and in The Education of a Graphic Designer, Looking Closer 2, and The Education of a Graphic Designer (all published by Allworth Press). He teaches graphic design at the University of California, Davis, and has served on the faculties of the University of Michigan, Duluth, and the Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles. He lives in Davis, California.
