Wesley
Van Tassel
lived and studied in Minnesota,
North Carolina, Denver, and New York City before beginning a fifteen-year
stint as a director in the professional theater. During this period,
he served as artistic director of the Westport Playhouse, the Mule Barn
Theatre, and the touring Continental Theatre Company. With a Ph.D. in
dramatic literature, he then became a professor and has taught at four
colleges and universities.
Wes has coached "acting Shakespeare"
to several hundred professional and student actors, staged twenty-four
AEA productions, produced fifty-five others, and directed more than
one hundred summer or university productions
Wes and his wife, actress
Dude Hatten, live with their two dogs near Seattle. His son, Craig,
lives in New York City, where he designs and engineers sound for Broadway
shows. His son, Eric, who lives in Wyoming, is an artist whose primary
emphasis is sculpture
Wesley Van Tassel is available
for stage and film voice and language coaching, one-semester or one-year
visiting appointments in colleges of universities, or short-term workshop
