Dave Schwensen is an author, award-winning humor columnist, radio host, entertainment journalist, business owner, talent coordinator, and nationally-recognized comedy coach. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, his book How To Be A Working Comic: An Insider's Guide To A Career In Comedy, (Back Stage Books, NYC), is into a fifth printing and considered by many to be the guidebook for the comedy industry. His follow-up book, Comedy FAQ's And Answers: How The Stand-Up Biz Really Works, was published in April 2005 by Allworth Press, NYC.

Los Angeles: Dave's credits include Talent Coordinator for the television show, "A&E's An Evening At The Improv," the Hollywood Improv Comedy Club and Assistant to Budd Friedman - who is the founder of The Improv and originator of the comedy club as we know it today. In this capacity, Dave worked with all the top comedy stars, major networks, film studios, talent agencies and management companies in coordinating showcases for established performers and up-and-coming comedians. Included in this list are "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Comedy Central, HBO, MTV and many others. In his off-hours, he performed with a Los Angeles based improvisational troupe, various theatrical productions and films.

New York City: As Talent Coordinator and Manager of The Original Improv Comedy Club, Dave coordinated comedian auditions for "The Tonight Show," "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Today Show," HBO, Cinemax and others. He also performed over 200 times at the famed venue. As a member of The Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Actors, he appeared on "Saturday Night Live," numerous soap operas including "All My Children" and "One Life To Live," as well as commercials, nightclubs and theatrical productions.

Cleveland: Dave Schwensen Entertainment schedules performers for corporate and college events, theaters and nightclubs throughout the country. Other projects include Public Relations for entertainers and Producer of The Great Lakes Comedy Festival. A newspaper journalist since 1993, he writes two weekly entertainment columns, (comedy, of course, and music), while his humor column, "Something To Laugh About," was awarded First Prize for "Original Column" at the 2005 Ohio Newspaper Association Awards. He is also the host of the radio show, "What's So Funny!" produced by Lake Effect Radio and heard every Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. on Cleveland's WHK 1420 AM.

As author of How To Be A Working Comic: An Insider's Guide To A Career In Stand-Up Comedy and Comedy FAQ's And Answers: How The Stand-Up Biz Really Works, Dave's comedy workshops are sold-out events at clubs and festivals. Basing his coaching techniques on the importance of each participant's own style of humor, he weaves his expertise and insider's knowledge into every presentation of Good Humor: The Mental Recess.
