Penny Florence is the Head of Research Programs at The Slade School of Fine Artis and a former professor of contemporary art at Falmouth College of Arts, where she has inaugurated and directed the M.Phil./Ph.D. program. A Ph.D. graduate in philosophy from York University in 2000, she is a member of the University of Plymouth Research Degrees Committee and a regular speaker at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design’s International Visiting Speaker series. She has written and edited six books, most recently Looking Back to the Future (2001) and Aesthetics (2000), and contributed to seventeen others. She lives in Hayle, Cornwall, UK.
